Busy weekend

We had a rather busy weekend.

Friday night: Bob Dylan tribute concert

Saturday AM: New tires on Sean's car and a baby shower

Saturday PM: Party at the Hoffman's

Sunday AM: Sleep in!!

Sunday PM: Photo shoot for the Wingert's 40th anniversary

Sunday afternoon we drove up to Messiah College and took some photos for our friends, the Wingerts and company. All manner of family and friends were there so we took the opportunity to get some nice family shots. It went great and we had a blast. It's always east to take great pictures when you have lovely surroundings and good weather. I enjoyed every moment.

It feels really good to have total digital control over all my pictures. Gone are the days of film. My new camera is starting to feel like an extension. I just imagine, point, compose and press the shutter. Click. And there it is.

Rock of Ages

I have to put a quick blog up.
After some serious reminiscing of the 90's while watching a special on Def Leppard yesterday, I had to download their new album.
We'll the results are in kids.
It rocks my face off.
Really? You ask...
Yes, really.
Remember them? I bet you were thinking just a little while ago, "what ever happened to that band Def Leppard?" You know, that great rock band from eons ago that had such great hits as "Armageddon it" and "Love bites"
Well now you know, they are still around making great music.
Warning - "Music talk" ahead....
The new album sounds great, nice guitar tones, really tight production, great vocals, and above all great songwriting. I've been blasting it in my car all day today
All of you generation X'rs like myself will love it.

Whatever, just go get it

A Little Jazz Anyone?

Last evening Sean and I joined our friends Brian and Aimee and headed to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Cyrus Chestnut, a jazz pianist, performed with two other men. One played an upright bass and the other, a small drum kit. Tables were spread out for people to sit and enjoy the music. We chose to sit on the grand staircase that lead to the second floor. So with wine and drinks in hand we sat back and listened to a fantastic performance. Later, when we were walking through the museum and taking in some exhibits, Mr. Chestnut walked by. If it wasn't for Sean stopping him to shake his hand and compliment his performance, the other three of us would never have noticed such a great performer walking by. Favorite new band

This is a clip of my favorite new band - "organissimo" These guys are amazing. I have always loved the subtle sound of the Hammond B3 organ, which is the center of their sound. So I decided to post this for your listening enjoyment. This song is a classic remake of the Jazz standard "Tenderly."
